wXw Germany has just announced that a singles match will take place between Emil Sitoci (NL) and NOAH Global Honor Crown Jr. Heavyweight Champion Yoshinobu Kanemaru (JP). Both men have clashed in the ring before in Germany in 2006. Sitoci was wXx Light-Heavyweight Champion at the time, and he succesfully defended his title by pinning Kanemaru to the mat after the Snapmare Driver. This time around it will be Kanemaru who will be the defending champion.

Not only does Emil hold singles victories over Japanese wrestlers such as Taiji Ishimori and CIMA, but he also managed to score the win against NOAH regular Bobby Fish. Given the fact that Emil also holds a victory over Kanemaru himself, Pro Wrestling NOAH decided that Emil had earned himself the right to be the No.1 contender for the GHC Jr. Heabyweight Championship.

This past weekend Emil successfully competed for Wrestling Stars in France, and PWS in The Netherlands.

On Friday the region of Lyon, France hosted a Wrestling Stars gala featuring some of their most impressive talent, including the Heavyweight Champion Prince Zefy, and European Champion Bernard Vandamme.

The hundreds of fans in attendance were treated to a singles match between Emil and Jerry Motta (France). Although Motta showed a lot of aggression early on in the match, Emil had a slight weight advantage which kept Motta from executing his strongest offensive manoeuvres. Emil proved to be dominant in the match, which ended after 14 minutes and 12 seconds.

Later that night, Emil also participated in the main event. As is the tradition on most of the French gala’s, a 6-man tag-team contest took place. The first team to score two victories would win the match. The first teams consisted of Emil, Jonathan Éclair (France) and Prince Zefy (France). The second team consisted of Jerry Motta (France), Fernando de Sousa (Portugal) and “Sir” Robin Lekime (Spain).

Lekime made short work of Eclair, and scored the first win for his team by pinfall. Emil defeated Jerry Motta by pinfall with the Splitlegged Moonsault, which evened the score. Finally, Prince Zefy scored the final win for his team by pinning Lekime after his top rope Splash at 23 minuted and 9 seconds.

Emil Sitoci will return to France on June 19th, 2010.

On Saturday, Emil travelled to Zaandam, The Netherlands for what was to be his first ever one-on-one encounter with Bernard Vandamme. However, Bernard was forced to pull out at the very last second due to a number of reasons, one of which involves the European Championship. Bernard is scheduled to defend his Title against longtime rival Cybernic Machine next week in Poland, and needs to be well rested and in top condition.

The PWS owner Louis van Eden apologized to the fans in attendance for Bernard Vandamme’s absence, and announced that Emil would be taking on Edd Ferris from Wales instead. Ferris is skilled in both the arts of MMA and Pro Wrestling, and has helped many of today’s talents get started in the ring.

The match between Emil and Ferris started out with both men showing off their technical abilities. However, things took a dramatic turn when Emil took Ferris to outside of the ring and split his head wide open against the ring apron. The crowed gasped as a bloody Ferris clawed his way back into the ring. Refusing to give up, Ferris made several aggressive comebacks by using his MMA skills, before Emil hit the Snapmare Driver to score the pinfall after 12 minutes and 32 seconds.

Like in any sports, pro-wrestling has it’s elite. Now, for the first time ever, two of Europe’s biggest names will finally meet!

On May 29th 2010, Pro Wrestling Showdown will host the clash between Emil Sitoci (NL) and Bernard Vandamme (BE) in de Kade, Zaandam, The Netherlands. (www.prowrestlingshowdown.nl)

Bernard Vandamme is making his debut in PWS! As Belgiums most beloved wrestler and a European wrestling icon, Bernard has been a dominant force in the world of wrestling for many years. His careerd jumpstarted when he travelled to the United States during the early 90’s, where he was trained by the legendary “Exotic” Adrian Street. He rose to fame in Europe not only for his impressive matches, but also his many appearances on television. Bernard hosted “WCW Worldwide” and was a key cast member on “Fort Boyard” among other things. As recently as one week ago, Bernard defeated his longtime rival Cybernic Machine to retain the “Wrestling Stars” European Championship.

Emil Sitoci’s career has been similar to Vandamme’s in many ways. Just like Bernard, Emil has toured the United States at a young age to learn his craft. Just like Bernard he has also gained fame through the media. Earlier in his career fans and fellow wrestlers alike were quick to compair Emil to a young Bernard Vandamme. However, there are also some important differences that set these men apart. Other than the difference in size and weight, there is also a noticeable difference in attitude. Both men have garnered the respect of wrestling fans by their athletic abilities and their charisma. However, Bernard is carrying himself as a European Champion with dignity and class, whereas Emil is the cocky, brash voice of a newer generation. Emil has recently defeated some of Europe’s finest in Zack Sabre Jr., Ares and just yesterday, Martin Stone. He now has his sights set on the one and only “King of Europe”.

Both of these men have clawed, bit and scrathes their way to the top of the European scene. Both of them have an undying passion for their sport. What will happen when Belgiums most beloved meets Holland’s most infamous?

The Best vs. The Best: Emil Sitoci vs. Bernard Vandamme!

TV Gelderland is currently producing a series of 30-minute specials about well known Dutch athletes. Emil Sitoci will be the main focus in one of these specials, which will air in june 2010. A primary interview has already been taped, and a camera crew will be on hand to capture Emil’s actions in the ring during one of his upcoming matches.

Emil has been featured on TV Gelderland in the past when he was invited to be a guest on the show “Sparren” (Sparring) earlier in 2010. The circumstances surrounding the live broadcast were somewhat unusual, as Emil got into a scuffle with longtime rival Louis van Eden.

Although TV Gelderland is a regional Dutch TV station, content will be made available online.

Update:

May 8th 2010, Oberhausen, Germany.

Emil Sitoci (NL) succesfully defeated Martin Stone (UK) in their first ever singles encounter at wXw “The Challenge”. The match featuring Sitoci and Stone was part of a competition between the wXw middleweights and heavyweights. Emil represented the middleweights, who ended up defeating the heavyweights by a one-fall difference at the end of The Challenge.

The match between Sitoci and Stone started out with technical and amateur-style wrestling. Soon thereafter Emil took the lead by attacking the heavier Stone’s neck. Although Stone made a comeback and nearly managed to run over Sitoci, the Dutchman pulled out the victory by pinning Stone with an inside cradle.

TV Gelderland was on hand to capture the action, and the events surrounding the match between Sitoci and Stone will be chronicled in the special.

Well whaddayaknow?! I guess Hell finally froze over…

After many years of crazy multi man matches and weird stipulations, the GSW office finally granted me a one-on-one title shot for the Breakthrough Championship. I’ve been chasing the title like a hungry dog for years, and this year I decided to turn up the heat to get finally my way. My recent GSW winning streak earned me the right to go at it with the defending Champion Zack Sabre Jr. at Night in Motion XX in Marburg, Germany.

The weekend didn’t start off to hot for me, since I fell victim to some kind of food poisoning earlier in the week. Which reminds me…

*Attention* *Attention* All Emil Sitoci-fans, please refrain from eating chicken McNuggets !! It’s true what they say. They’re McBad for you. // END of Message.

I tried my absolute best to get healthy in time for the GSW weekend. My match had been a long time and the making, and I wasn’t about to have it ruined by a damn CHICKEN McNUGGET. Still, I wasn’t sure whether I was determined or just incredibly stupid when I found myself throwing up backstage right before my match. (Anybody ever tried throwing up while wearing pink tights & wrestling boots? I gotta say it feels somewhat unnatural…)

I was cradling my vomit bucket for dear life on the dressing room floor seconds before my match, so the backstage coordinators delayed the match for a few minutes which allowed me to pull myself together. I decided not to have the match pushed back on the card. Instead, I requested that my precious vomit bucket would be allowed to support me from ringside. Thankfully the GSW board agreed with my demands

Me and Zack ripped into each other in a hard-hitting back & forth contest. The match would’ve surely been better if we were both fully healthy (Zack had a bad cold), but we definitely didn’t let anybody down! We smacked each other hard around the ring, and the fight spilled to the floor on more than one occasion. Usually the Germans can’t stand the sight of me, but I was surprised to hear that the crowd was actually split right down the middle this time. In fact, when I defeated Zack and finally captured the BT Title I got a big applause too!!… Weird… Could this be the beginning of a newfound mutual appreciation between me and the German wrestling fans? Hmmm… the Germans & Emil, Emil & the Germans….Let me think…. Nahhhhhh!! I stand by my previous attitude!! Screw Germany! Viva la France !!

I am sad to see GSW close it’s doors indefinitely for at least a long period of time, but I am glad that I managed to capture that BT belt just in time, Sitoci style! *Woow!* I’m taking that strap to Disneyland!

Next up: wXw in Oberhausen April 17th! Oh yeah! Be there!

-xxxx-

Emil Sitoci

Ps. Big plans coming up involving a country that I’ve never wrestled in before. Stay tuned!

?
