This past weekend Emil successfully competed for Wrestling Stars in France, and PWS in The Netherlands.
On Friday the region of Lyon, France hosted a Wrestling Stars gala featuring some of their most impressive talent, including the Heavyweight Champion Prince Zefy, and European Champion Bernard Vandamme.
The hundreds of fans in attendance were treated to a singles match between Emil and Jerry Motta (France). Although Motta showed a lot of aggression early on in the match, Emil had a slight weight advantage which kept Motta from executing his strongest offensive manoeuvres. Emil proved to be dominant in the match, which ended after 14 minutes and 12 seconds.
Later that night, Emil also participated in the main event. As is the tradition on most of the French gala’s, a 6-man tag-team contest took place. The first team to score two victories would win the match. The first teams consisted of Emil, Jonathan Éclair (France) and Prince Zefy (France). The second team consisted of Jerry Motta (France), Fernando de Sousa (Portugal) and “Sir” Robin Lekime (Spain).
Lekime made short work of Eclair, and scored the first win for his team by pinfall. Emil defeated Jerry Motta by pinfall with the Splitlegged Moonsault, which evened the score. Finally, Prince Zefy scored the final win for his team by pinning Lekime after his top rope Splash at 23 minuted and 9 seconds.
Emil Sitoci will return to France on June 19th, 2010.
On Saturday, Emil travelled to Zaandam, The Netherlands for what was to be his first ever one-on-one encounter with Bernard Vandamme. However, Bernard was forced to pull out at the very last second due to a number of reasons, one of which involves the European Championship. Bernard is scheduled to defend his Title against longtime rival Cybernic Machine next week in Poland, and needs to be well rested and in top condition.
The PWS owner Louis van Eden apologized to the fans in attendance for Bernard Vandamme’s absence, and announced that Emil would be taking on Edd Ferris from Wales instead. Ferris is skilled in both the arts of MMA and Pro Wrestling, and has helped many of today’s talents get started in the ring.
The match between Emil and Ferris started out with both men showing off their technical abilities. However, things took a dramatic turn when Emil took Ferris to outside of the ring and split his head wide open against the ring apron. The crowed gasped as a bloody Ferris clawed his way back into the ring. Refusing to give up, Ferris made several aggressive comebacks by using his MMA skills, before Emil hit the Snapmare Driver to score the pinfall after 12 minutes and 32 seconds.
The next edition of PWS Showdown will be held in Eindhoven, The Netherlands in October of 2010. For more information please visit www.prowrestlingshowdown.nl
